In stud poker, a player must have the best five-card hand. The hand must be ranked by its odds. For example, a pair of aces is the lowest possible hand, while a five-card flush beats a straight flush. If a player does not have a five-card flush, the jack of diamonds is the lowest card. In some games, all four deuces are wild cards. In other games, the ace is treated as the lowest card.
In some poker variants, a bet can be a forced bet. For example, a bet may be an ante. Alternatively, a bet might be a blind bet.
